I teach English comp too, so, in addition to appreciating the larger messages of the piece, I could really relate to the secondary narrative about your decision to leave academia and become a freelancer. I think that was courageous. And I’m very sorry about your dad.

I’m also very glad to hear that therapy has been so successful for you. I’ve read a lot (a LOT) about CBT, but I haven’t given it an honest try. This is a good endorsement, though.
